My Cure for Anxiety & Depression

As I continued my search for anything that could help, I came across an article about how some doctor had conducted a study regarding various ailments people had. This doctor was telling his patients to take fish pills as a dietary supplement. I don't know what it was about the article that convinced me to try it, but I did try it. I remembered that the doctor said it took anywhere from two to eight weeks before people could notice any changes in their symptoms. I bought a huge bottle of Omega 3 fish pills from Walmart. I started taking just one pill everyday along with the multivitamin I had been taking for years.

Several weeks passed. Then one day, I caught myself enjoying a silent moment of pure relaxed peacefulness when I felt a beam of sunlight come through my kitchen window & touch my arm. It caught my attention because I hadn't felt any sense of inner peace at all in God knows how long. I noticed, for just a short while, I felt completely relaxed & at peace. I thought to myself, "Maybe there is something to this fish pill stuff." As the days & weeks continued, I noticed that I was becoming less irritable. I was having more & more of those peaceful moments. My confidence was building. "This stuff must really be working." I decided to do more research on these Omega 3 pills. Eureka! I found a book written by the doctor I had read about. It is called Omega 3 Oils: A Practical Guide by Donald Rudin, M.D. & Clara Felix. The book retailed for $11.95. Last I checked, you could buy it used for about $4 at amazon.com. What a screaming deal. When I read this book, I realized that there were many other positive side effects of taking omega3 supplements. Many of the things that had happened to other people on his study were also happening to me.

To me it was like a miracle cure

You could really tell it was working. I was at a fourth of July party & drank a ton of beer. I drank close to twenty beers. (Now you probably think I'm an alcoholic.) The next day I felt fine. "No hangover. Are you kidding me?" I thought. I just didn't realize it was a common side effect of taking the supplements. Now I was completely & totally sold on these fish oil pills. One of the best benefits I noticed was that it was like this fog had been lifted from my mind. I could think clearly & focus my attention much better. Now years later, I am proud to say my depression and anxiety disorder is completely gone! Completely gone! No more panic attacks! No more feelings of constant stress. I feel better than I have mentally since I was seventeen years old. Although, I am not in as good of physical shape as I was then.

I try to stay up to date on the latest information regarding anxiety, depression or Omega-3 supplements. I read many books on health. I practice staying upbeat emotionally. I do believe that your thoughts & mental attitude play an important role in your mental health. But I am convinced that the single biggest factor in my beating anxiety & depression was taking these supplements. I now take three, one gram omega-3 fish oil capsules every morning. I used to take generic brand fish oil. I have since learned that most of the real cheap ones contain very high amounts of toxins like mercury & PCB's. Now, I take pharmaceutical grade ultra refined fish oil you can buy online. I also take a cheap multivitamin & the herb Milk Thistle. I started taking the milk thistle due to having a condition known as metabolic syndrome. I recommend reading Dr. Rudin's book. I am eternally grateful that I stumbled on his information. I sincerely believe in it & recommend it. I would also like you to know that I did not follow the diet in his book. It may work just fine. I never tried it. I just take the pills because I know they are working. I have also listened to an audio book by Dr. Sears of the Zone Diet fame. He published a book called The Anti-Inflammation Zone (about $11 at amazon.com). I also strongly recommend reading or listening to this book. He also praises Omega-3 supplements, then explains the science behind them. I am telling you this stuff really works. I have told my entire family, my doctor, & all my friends about it. Try it.

Life after anxiety & depression

I still remember what life was like when I went through this. I know it is very hard to let friends & family know what you are going through. I would tell them bits & pieces, but never the whole story. I am convinced that if you try the remedies I mentioned, it will probably help you. I thought I would never get over my anxiety & depression. Now, life is as good as it ever was. Thanks for listening.
